Revisiting an old idea

This is the latest idea I've been working on that I have in a state that's post-able. And this isn't really anything great, but it might be interesting to see kind of how I go through different iterations before ending up at one that I like. The story is actually something I've posted before (for example, on this post), but I wanted to try making a side-scrolling fighting game, so I borrowed the idea. It'll probably take a while, but I hadn't posted anything for some time, so I decided to put this on here.

Better concept with style

This is just a work-in-progress, but I felt like I needed to post something to make up for the last post, which in my opinion was kind of crappy. This is another concept for the the same hooded character, but this piece has more interesting contrast and a lot more personality.

EDIT: Here's the final product. I basically added more shading.

Similar

This character is similar to another character in the game, so it almost looks the same. I think I'm going to need to rework it a little so it's unique.

New Concepts

I think I spent too much time working on this one. The city turned out alright, but overall this one could have been better. Anyway, this is the first drawing on my new Wacom Intuos tablet. It started out as just a doodle and I ended up making it into a concept piece. Also, I'm adding an image of the detail on the city because I didn't want the part I spent the most time on go to waste since I ended up blurring it out in the end.

Witch King of Angmar

Anyone that calls themselves a nerd probably knows this image. It's not an original, but I used this as practice for metal and fabric.

Self-portrait

This has nothing to do with the game, but I wanted to post this. I actually embellished a pencil and paper drawing I did last night of my silhouette that I saw in my phone's reflection. I wanted to put something cool in the background, so I added something like the cosmos in Photoshop since I've been reading a bit on astronomy and the likes recently. Anyway, it's not a real self-portrait, but it is my face that is silhouetted. Also, I updated the color and made the stars smaller to make this seem a little more like something you might actually see.
