Revisiting an old idea

This is the latest idea I've been working on that I have in a state that's post-able. And this isn't really anything great, but it might be interesting to see kind of how I go through different iterations before ending up at one that I like. The story is actually something I've posted before (for example, on this post), but I wanted to try making a side-scrolling fighting game, so I borrowed the idea. It'll probably take a while, but I hadn't posted anything for some time, so I decided to put this on here.
